When you schedule a consultation with Park Avenue Fertility, you’ll be scheduled for the first possible appointment. This will get you started with a dedicated team who is here to help you grow your family.
What Happens at Your First Appointment?
Our patients are often pleasantly surprised that their first appointment is an hour-long private meeting with Dr. Levi. We encourage both partners to attend the first consultation, as it’s an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other. With over 20 years of experience as a reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Levi can answer your questions and come up with a plan best suited to you.
During your first appointment, it’s all about you.
We want to learn about you – your medical history, your goals, and your concerns.
There’s no physical exam or testing during this appointment. This is because we want to focus on getting the bigger picture by discussing your history and answering any questions you have.
Dr. Levi is determined to answer your questions and put you at ease. He strives to make you feel as though a clear plan is in place by the end of the consultation.
Dr. Levi uses past testing results and other medical documentation to supplement his evaluation.
If you’re unable to get medical documentation together – don’t worry! Our reception staff will provide you with the releases necessary to contact any previous doctors and fertility clinics. Once you sign the releases, they request the records for you. When the records arrive, they are forwarded to Dr. Levi and the nursing staff for review.
What Are the Next Steps After Your First Fertility Consult?
Based on the information that you and Dr. Levi discuss in your consult, Dr. Levi will develop a plan for you. Diagnostic testing for both partners will be scheduled. Some of these tests may include hormone testing, uterine and fallopian tube evaluations, ultrasounds, biopsies, genetic screening, and semen analysis, all of which aim to find the root of your fertility struggles. The results of this testing will determine the course of your treatment plan.
As your results come in, Dr. Levi will discuss your care plan with you and schedule additional appointments as the treatment begins.
