Dr. Levi and the Park Avenue Fertility team are proud to offer fertility treatment and services to people who identify as LGBTQ+.
We offer LGBTQ+ individuals and couples the opportunity to have children through the use of in vitro fertilization (IVF), artificial insemination (IUI), sperm or egg donation, and gestational surrogacy, depending on the needs of the person or couple. Our care is individualized to accommodate a patient’s unique situation.
Fertility services for gay couples
Park Avenue Fertility can work with you and your partner to decide upon the most appropriate fertility treatment to help start or extend your family.
Most often, one partner donates his sperm. That sperm is then used with a donor egg, and the resulting embryo is transferred to a gestational surrogate.
The couple can use our anonymous egg donor program. This program allows the couple to choose physical attributes such as eye and hair color, height, race, and ethnicity when choosing an anonymous egg donor. Alternatively, the couple could use a known egg donor.
Both anonymous and known egg donors must undergo extensive testing to assure the eggs will be suitable for use. After an egg donor is found, in vitro fertilization (IVF) and a gestational surrogate are used to achieve pregnancy.
Fertility services for lesbian couples
Park Avenue Fertility can work with you and your partner to decide upon the most appropriate fertility treatment to help start or extend your family.
For lesbian couples, the partner who intends to carry the pregnancy undergoes diagnostic evaluation and subsequently uses donor sperm in conjunction with intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive. If both partners wish to participation in the process, one partner provides the eggs and the other partner carries the pregnancy, once an embryo is created using IVF and donor sperm. The couple can specify physical attributes such as hair and eye color, height, race, and ethnicity when selecting a sperm donor.
Fertility services for transgender men and women
Park Avenue Fertility can work with you and your partner to decide upon the most appropriate fertility treatment to help start or extend your family.
We can assist transgender individuals prior to transition. Men who are transitioning to women may freeze their sperm prior to gender affirmation surgery. Women who are transiting to men can freeze eggs or embryos prior to surgery. Depending on the needs of the patient, donor insemination, donor eggs, and/or a surrogate can be used to conceive in the future. If donor eggs and/or sperm are needed, the couple can specify physical attributes such as hair and eye color, height, race, and ethnicity. Park Avenue Fertility has an anonymous egg donor program, or the couple could use a known egg donor. Both anonymous and known egg donors must undergo extensive testing to assure the eggs will be suitable for use. If donor sperm is needed, Park Avenue Fertility staff will assist patients in securing donor sperm from a sperm bank.
